• IELTS stands for International English Language Testing System
  • Four skills including the listening, speaking, reading, and writing are tested in the IELTS test.
  • In the IELTS Speaking test, the majority of the examiners speak with an English or Australian accent; however, in case of spelling, you can choose either US or UK spelling, but you can’t mix them.
  • The listening, reading, and writing skills are all taken on the same day, but the speaking test can be on the same day or at another date.
  • During the IELTS test, you are not given any break between the listening, reading and writing test.
  • The whole IELTS test will take 2 hours and 40 minutes in total.
  • You can use either a pen or pencil for your writing test, but your listening and reading test answers must be written in pen only.
  • There is no limit in taking the IELTS test and you can take it as many times as you want.
  • The only difference between General Trading IELTS and Academic IELTS is in the writing and reading test.
  • You are not allowed to wear a watch in any of the tests, even the speaking test. There will be a clock on the wall so you can check the time.
